Veialu was awarded the 2025 Faber Writing A Novel Scholarship. Presented by Australia's leading independent publishing house Allen & Unwin in partnership with the prestigious UK publishers Faber & Faber.

INDIGENOUS & PASIFIKA FESTIVALS
A passionate advocate for Indigenous cinema, Veialu served as a film screener – evaluating short and feature-length films – for the 2024 and 2025 Los Angeles Asian Pacific Film Festival and the 13th Festival of Pacific Arts (FestPAC).

MENTOR
ARMED WITH A CAMERA FELLOWSHIP
Veialu was a mentor for the 2023-2024 Armed With A Camera Fellowship (AWC) in Los Angeles, a program run by the pioneering media arts organisation Visual Communications.
For over 20 years, this annual fellowship has supported Asian & Pacific Islander filmmakers who empower communities & challenge perspectives. Veialu is also an AWC alum herself.
